Originally from Oklahoma, but like the saying goes… “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could” 🙂 I love hiking, waterfalls, anything Nutrition related, and you will often find me with a glass of red wine in hand. After working in the “real” world I have realized 2-3 weeks vacation per year isn’t nearly enough to see this amazing world of ours. With my best friend by my side I can’t wait to see where our travels take us! More on my thoughts of traveling the world here

Born and raised Texan; I have been in the Computer field for the last 10 years but in my free time enjoy all things on wheels and anything with Green Technology. Last year with the great support of my wife, family, friends, and job I was able to complete one of my bucket list goals of riding my bicycle across the United States – http://Work2Ride.Wordpress.com
The Adventure Begins July 2nd, 2012!

We’re excited to welcome two more cubicle refugees into the real world in just a few weeks’ time! It’s taken us five years to get from the Arctic Ocean to Nicaragua on our Trans-Americas Journey through North, Central and South America so be prepared for time to lose its meaning once you hit the road. Let us know if we can help. Karen & Eric
Thanks Karen & Eric, loved the pics on your blog especially Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona
Congrats on your decision to travel the world – we are two weeks in to our trip and very happy we did it. Looking forward to following along!
Thanks Aaron, your pics of the Golden Falls in Iceland looks amazing, can’t wait to see it ourselves!
Good luck on all your travels! We’ll miss you both, but know this is a once in a life time experience. We can’t wait to read & hear about all your adventures. I know I don’t have to tell you guys to take lots of photos :).
Love you both bunches!!!
Jessica
Congrats you two! What a grand adventure you are on! If you guys are still in Cusco. Eat at the Monestary, it is amazing.
Cheers!
Thanks Mike, we just made it back to Cusco after Machu Picchu and will have to look into it; always happy to get the tips.
Well EmilySue…..news doesn’t travel as fast in my neck of the woods, so I’m glad that I postponed my call to HR regarding the plethora of vacation time that you seemed to have. I am so proud of you…for going for it….for doing something so brave for all the right reasons = WHY NOT!!!!
Thanks you for friending me on FB- I love seeing your adventures and seeing your wonderful smile as you take it all in. Safe travels to you both and many happy returns.

Stephanie!!! How are you?! Thanks for saying hi on the blog and for your encouragement. It has definitely been an amazing journey so far. We basically just decided to do a mini retirement now before kids because real retirement just seems so depressingly far away 😉
Hope you are well and stay in touch!

It was so great to meet fellow American sabbatical-ers in the Whitsunday Islands! Enjoy the rest of your travels in Australia and love the blog + photos!

great walkabout !!!!
Thanks Robyn!
would like to know more on how you travel to so many places and how do you keep your air fair low. Thanks Katina
Hi Tina, We actually didn’t keep the air fair cost low; you can see in our budget it was our highest cost – http://www.wegortw.com/budget/
I found your blog and just wanted to congratulate you on your decision to grab life and be alive.
Your blog is so well done and so inspirational. I am passing it along as an example of living your passion and things will work out.
I’m sure I missed it.. but I do not see a post saying you made it. A ‘wrap-up’ post
Did you complete your circuit as you set out?
Regardless, awesome inspiration & thank you for sharing.
Hi Karl sorry to take so long to reply and approve your comment as it was buried in the spam messages (ah the internets). So we ended up finishing round 1 after 11 months and 22 countries. There is no closing summary as in our minds we are not finished seeing the world and open to round 2. That being said we are currently back to working vacations where we only get so much time away. Perhaps Feb. 2016 for Round 2 🙂
